What Are You Aiming For This Week?

Happy Labor Day! I hope you’ve had an enjoyable, extended weekend. Welcome to September! As you go into this shorter work week, what are your goals? What are you aiming for?
The life we want doesn’t magically fall on us from Heaven. To experience the amazing life God has for us, we have to a.i.m. A stands for acknowledge.
In Proverbs 3:6, it says, “In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” Acknowledging and recognizing God in every area of our life leads to the direction that we need. I stands for inquire.
As I read through Judges, 1st & 2nd Samuel, and 1st & 2nd Kings this summer, how often people inquired of the Lord stood out to me. Inquire means to ask for information. In my reading, I saw how their inquiring lead to success and how their lack of inquiring led to disastrous results. How often are you inquiring of the Lord for different areas of your life?
M stands for mediation. What is Biblical mediation? Joshua 1:8 says, “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” A simple definition of Biblical meditation is to continually think about, imagine, and say what God’s Word says. When we acknowledge and inquire, we must mediate on the answers God gives us and the promises that are connected to it in His Word. Mediation leads to revelation, success, and breakthrough.
This week, make sure that you a.i.m. well! I shared more about this in my message, “Aiming For Rest.” Stream the message to learn more about aiming and how to enter into the rhythm of rest for your life.
