The In-Between Days (Add Some Color To Your Diet)
As we close out 2022, we’re in the interesting time in between Christmas and New Year’s Eve. For some it’s a busy time as they wrap up the year and for others it’s a time of rest where they recuperate before the upcoming year. Sometimes the work and rest of this last week of the year seems to cause the days to blur together. Whether you have a lot to do over the next few days or you are catching up on some must needed rest, make sure you start your year with clarity of vision. Clarity of vision for your upcoming year is far beyond your natural eye sight. If you are going to see the upcoming year correctly, you have to have clear mental and spiritual perception.
One of the ways to achieve clear mental and spiritual perception is by praying the prayer found in Ephesians 1:14-23. I pray this prayer daily for myself, my family, my church, and all of those on my prayer list and those within my sphere of influence. You really should pray this prayer for yourself as well. I shared about the importance of this prayer in my book, Prayers That Will Change Your Life. In this prayer, Paul prayed that the eyes of our understanding would be flooded with light. Too many times, our perception is clouded by the past, our mistakes, things we experienced, and even deception by the Enemy. Whether you are working or resting during these in-between days, take time to pray this Ephesians 1 prayer for you and your loved ones.
A few years ago, I discovered the importance of “adding color” to my diet. The multi-colored vegetables and fruit I add to salads (like the featured photo) or to my smoothies provide different nutrients that are needed for a healthy diet. I’ve known for a while how important orange carrots (yes, there are other colors for carrots) were to supporting vision. I recently discovered how raw red peppers are also good for your eyes. Kale is another vegetable that is good for your eyes. As you make your plans for what foods you are going to eat in 2023, make sure you add some color to your diet as well. (Also, make sure you talk to your doctor or nutritionist and ask for their insight into what foods you need to eat in a greater quantity.)

The phrase “prayer changes things” is very common and very true. In understanding this, another question can rise which is, “Are there some prayers that are more effective than others?” The answer is a resounding, “Yes.” There are divinely inspired prayers in the Bible which can transform lives and change situations. The prayers included in this book are Scriptural prayers that have transformative power. Each chapter of this book explains the meaning of these Scriptural prayers so that the reader will have greater faith and understanding as they pray these prayers. The prayers included in this book are truly “Prayers That Will Change Your Life.”
Endorsement from Rev. Kate McVeigh:
I’ve know Pastor Butler since he was a teenager and have watched him grow into a powerful man of God with a thriving Church! I am convinced that much of his success has come as a direct result of the prayers he writes about in this book. These are some of the most important prayers we should pray as a Believer. This book breaks it down in a easy to understand manner and then teaches you how to pray these life-changing prayers yourself. Get ready to see God do great things as your prayer life will go to the next level!
Endorsement from Rev. Marcus Tankard:
In every generation there must be an expression of fervent, faith-filled, Holy Spirit inspired prayers. These are the prayers that will hasten manifestation of events on God’s prophetic time clock. These are the prayers that call men and women like Moses and Elijah from out of the dessert and into the kingdom agenda. These are the prayers shake the nations and open regions to the gospel and the power of God. When I found out that my friend Kerrick Butler penned a booked of prayer, my heart leaped! Teaching on prayer has always been and will always be close to my heart. With sound, biblical doctrine, Kerrick outlines the heart of God as expressed through the prayers of Paul. The Holy Spirit inspired Paul to pray these prayers hundreds of years ago! And the truths found therein will lead your heart out of place complacency and prayerlessness and into a flow of utterance and demonstration of the Spirit. The impartation provided the pages of this book, will launch you into a new orbit of prayer that is scripture based and Spirit led. Let this book do something spiritual in you. As you read, let the truths therein adjust your belief system. And most importantly, as you study this book, be open to the Spirit to deposit a series of prayer assignments for this era. Remember: if you can follow the Spirit in prayer, you can follow Him anywhere!
