Leftovers

Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful week so far! Every Tuesday night my family and I have Taco Tuesday. I usually post a picture of our night, but last night got away from me. (So, here’s one of the pics from the night.). The way we do Taco Tuesdays provides leftovers for Wednesdays. Leftovers are a sign that you had more than enough for one meal and I truly believe that God has more than enough for your life.

John 6:1-13 NLT – After this, Jesus crossed over to the far side of the Sea of Galilee, also known as the Sea of Tiberias. A huge crowd kept following him wherever he went, because they saw his miraculous signs as he healed the sick. Then Jesus climbed a hill and sat down with his disciples around him. (It was nearly time for the Jewish Passover celebration.) Jesus soon saw a huge crowd of people coming to look for him. Turning to Philip, he asked, “Where can we buy bread to feed all these people?” He was testing Philip, for he already knew what he was going to do. Philip replied, “Even if we worked for months, we wouldn’t have enough money to feed them!” Then Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, spoke up. “There’s a young boy here with five barley loaves and two fish. But what good is that with this huge crowd?” “Tell everyone to sit down,” Jesus said. So they all sat down on the grassy slopes. (The men alone numbered about 5,000.) Then Jesus took the loaves, gave thanks to God, and distributed them to the people. Afterward he did the same with the fish. And they all ate as much as they wanted. After everyone was full, Jesus told his disciples, “Now gather the leftovers, so that nothing is wasted.” So they picked up the pieces and filled twelve baskets with scraps left by the people who had eaten from the five barley loaves.

Many believers are familiar with the story of Jesus providing for the multitude in John 6. But do you believe Jesus can do the same in your life? Jesus told the disciples to bring what they had to Him. Jesus multiplied the equivalent of a kid’s lunchable, fed thousands of people, and had twelve large baskets of leftovers. When you look at your life today, you may think you don’t have enough… (fill in the blank)…. I want to encourage you with this today, when you place what you do have in the hands of Jesus it will multiply. Your skills, giftings, talents, abilities, time, finances, all have the potential for multiplication when they are put in the hands of Jesus. God wants to multiply what you have until it is more than enough to meet your need, more than enough to meet others’ needs, and more than enough for you to enjoy the leftovers.

As Proverbs 3:6 reminds us, acknowledge the Lord in all you do. Acknowledge Him today by saying, “Lord, I thank you for directing my path. I believe you will multiply and increase every good thing in my life because I have placed my life in your hands. I will have more than enough to meet the need and I will enjoy the leftovers.” Remember, our God is the God Who is more than enough. He has provision and multiplication for you. Hold on to your expectation of God’s supply and abundance. With Jesus, you are more than enough and have more than enough to face every single challenge.

Enjoy the leftovers,

Kerrick

There are principles and spiritual laws found throughout the Word of God that, if followed, will cause Believers to experience the benefits of the kingdom of God. One of the prevailing, eternal spiritual laws found in Scripture is the Law of Seedtime and Harvest. We refer to it as a law because it always works; just like the law of gravity always works, the law of seedtime and harvest always works. In this 31-Day devotional, Pastor Kerrick shares Scriptural truths that will enable Believers to gather the Harvest that their loving Heavenly Father greatly desires them to have.
