Fuel For The Journey
Happy Holy Week! Happy Taco Tuesday! I hope you are having a great week so far. If you followed my Faith in the Morning podcast devotional over the last few weeks, you saw that my family and I took an epic road trip out west. We drove from Metro Atlanta to Los Angeles and back again.
We drove well over 4,000 miles in the course of our trip, which meant we had to stop at the gas station numerous times. Our journey required fuel…a lot of it. The journey of life that you are on requires fuel as well. The lifestyle of faith we are divinely invited to live requires fuel.
Galatians 5:6 tells us that faith works by love. Just like cars work by fuel (or an electric charge if you have an electric vehicle), your faith works by love. Love is the fuel of your faith. This love fuel can be described in three simple points:
Belief in God’s love for you
Your love towards God
Your love towards others
A lot of believers focus on points two and three, yet they often overlook or minimize point one. If you do not have a deep belief and revelation of point one, you will struggle with points two and three. God loves you as much as He loves Jesus. (John 17:23). In fact, the Apostle Paul prayed that we would be able to comprehend the love that God has for us. (Ephesians 3:19). The more we grow in understanding God’s love for us, the better we will be able love God and love others. Here are two simple ways to daily grow in your understanding of God’s love for you:
Personalize the Ephesians 3 prayer (Ephesians 3:16 – 19) and pray it over yourself every day
Daily say, “God loves me as much as He loves Jesus.”
This week, I have the wonderful privilege and opportunity to be a guest on The Kellie Show with Kellie Copeland. The show is available to stream at this link through Saturday night. Stream the program and let me know how you enjoy it.
Have a great day!
